Poly ethylene glycol ( PEG), as a polymer of unique properties in hydrophilicity and electrical neutrality, is well known as a significant material to resist protein adsorption. Here we reviewed some developments in recent years in surface modification of PEG on various substrates, including the analysis of PEG structures and characteristics, theoretic interpretation of adsorption resistance and the strategies of PEG modification on hydrophobic surfaces. We also look forward to its development prospects
