Natural Science Foundation of Fujian Province [2006 F3042]In the title compound, C(13)H(28)N(2) (2+) center dot SO(4) (2-)center dot H(2)O, extensive hydrogen-bonding interactions between the protonated 4,4'(propane-1,3-diyl) dipiperidinium ions, the sulfate anions and the water molecules lead to a three-dimensional pillared and layered structure with the 4,4'-(propane-1,3-diyl)dipiperidinium ions acting as the pillars.
