Multicolor solid-state electrochromic devices(ECD) based on conductive polymer[poly(3-methylthiophene) (P3MeT) and polyaniline( PANT)] were constructed in two kinds of configuration; lateral and vertical. The electrochromic performance of the laterally configured ECD was characterized by in-situ UV-Vis spectroscopy. P3MeT ECD shows blue-red reversible changes, and PANI-ECD shows darkgreen-yellowgreen reversible changes. The laterally configured P3MeT-PANI-ECD which employed both PANT and P3MeT as electrochromic layer exhibits darkgreen-yellowgreen-blue-red multicolor changes.
