From MP3 to Spotify : A discourse analysis of the file-sharing debate in four Swedish newspapers

Syftet med undersökningen är att, genom en analys av en mängd tidningsartiklar inom ämnet fildelning och piratkopiering, försöka se om och i så fall hur den debatten utvecklats i den svenska pressen. Det vi kommer fram till är att det sedan 1999 och fram till 2010 skett en avsevärd förskjutning av hur man beskriver och skriver om fildelning i svensk press. Utvecklingen har gått från att handla om ett tekniskt fenomen till en ideologisk och politisk diskussion.The purpose of the study is that, by analyzing a variety of newspaper articles in the subject of file sharing and piracy, try to see whether and if so, how the debate developed in the Swedish press. Our conclusion is that, between 1999 and 2010 there was a significant change in how file sharing was depicted in the Swedish press. The development has gone from a technological phenomenon to an ideological and political debate
