I dati sono stati raccolti su 1495 caprioli abbattuti nell’ATC PR 4 negli anni 2004÷2007. Per ciascun capo sono state raccolte alcune misure biometriche desunte dalla scheda di abbattimento. Per 54 animali è stato possibile ricavare DNA e analizzarlo a livello mitocondriale (D-loop) e a livello nucleare (RAPD). I valori delle misure biometriche sono aumentati in modo significativo tra piccoli (0÷11 mesi) e subadulti (12÷23 mesi) e, seppur in maniera meno accentuata, anche tra subadulti ed adulti (2°÷7° anno). Fra animali adulti e vecchi (>7° anno), i soli parametri che hanno mostrato un incremento significativo sono il diametro del peduncolo e la lunghezza basale del cranio.
