The presented dissertation deals with the investigation of saddle shaped cable roof, which is made of composites. A square in plane saddle shaped cable roof, which is supported by tensioned cables is considered. The cable roof consists of the cable net and roofing. The carbon fibre composite is considered as cable nets material jointly with the steel. The saddle shaped sheet type wooden composite, reinforced foamplastic, glass-fibre plastic on the basis of plyetheric bending are considered as materials for roofing. The main rational from the point of view of cable nets materials expenditure initial deflections of suspension, stressing, tension cables and step in plane of suspension and stressing cables were estimated by the numeral experiment for the structure with size in plane, which is changed from 10 to 50 m. The numeral experiment was conducted by the "ANSYS/ED 5.3" family of programs for the static loading case. The approximate method for the static analysis of the saddle shape cable roofs supported by tension cables, was developed. By the comparison of the results of analysis of the structures with several spans, obtained both by the "ANSYS/ED 5.3" family of programs and by the approximate method, it was stated that deviation of the results does not exceed 14.7%. But the deviation for the existing approximate methods exceeds 37% at the same time. The method, which enables to forecast the values of bending curvatures for the saddle shape sheet type composites, based on the model of deformation for the multilayer composite with nonsymmetric relative to the middle plane structure, depending on the changes of moisture, was developed. The usefulness of the method for the development of technological recommendations was stated basing on the experiment, which was connected with the determination of the bending curvatures for the four-layers nonbalanced birch veneer composite. The variants of decrease of maximum vertical displacements of the saddle shape cable roof, supported by tension cables, were suggested. It was shown that the most effective variant to decrease the compliance of the saddle shape cable roof, supported by tension cables, is the utilization of cable trusses for the structure of supporting contour.
