The dissertation focuses on the repair of fractures of the proximal femur and its diaphysis by the way of intramedullary locking nailing. It is divided into a theoretical and a practical section. The goal of the theoretical part is a general overview of the types of locking fixated nails, pre-operative planning, description of the surgical procedures, possible complications and postoperative care. The clinical part utilizes a patients' population sample to assess the results of the intramedullary locking fixation of femur fractures, to analyze the patients' population sample according to age, gender, and type of fracture.
