Surfaces of CA membranes were modified by plasma polymerisation using EDA or n-BA as a predursor. Membranes were analysed with respect to the highest possible immobilisation enzyme capacity. Both XPS and FTIR analyses revealed increasing nitrogen content in the treated surface layer with increasing duration and intensity of the modification. Fluorocarbon thin films were prepared by radiofrequency magnetron sputtering in the planparallel electrode system, using PTFE target. The purity of the precursor was checked using x-ray microanalysis. The sputtering was done in argon, in nitrogen or in SSGD mode at different pressures and substrate temperatures.
