Trvanlivost povrchovych ochran naterovymi hmotami se snizenou ekologickou zatezi v zemedelskych provozech

The objective of the dissertation was to evaluate the durability of paint materials for different working environments in agriculture. The main attention was paid to analyses of quality parameters of some harmless paints approved by the General Hygienist of the Czech Republic for direct contact with foods, feeds and tap water on the base of shortened and long-term tests, as well as to evaluate durability of some new types of paints especially under very aggressive corrosive environments of agriculture enterprises. At first, an extensive survey of literature dealing with the recent data about anticorrosive protection and coating properties of paints was elaborated. This survey was prepared above all with regard to hygienic safety and environment impact of different paints. Protective properties of paints were evaluated using shortened tests in condensation chambers with distilled water, sulphur dioxide, liquid manure and synthetic fertilizer on the one hand and long-term ones, i.e. under atmospheric and operation conditions of farms on the other. Tests involved seven different paint systems viz. chlorinated rubber, polymers, epoxy, combinations of polyurethanes and alkyd etc. In shortened tests, the best results were obtained with polymerated and one-component polyurethane systems. For that reason they can be recommended for very aggressive conditions. On the other hand, the worst results were obtained with the alkyd paint system. A continuous evaluation of samples in long-term tests (after 5 months) showed an only slight damage of some paints after the direct contact with silage. This long-term tests are planned for a period of 10 years and final results will be compared with those of shortened tests. The obtained results will be used for both pedagogical and research activities at the Mendel University of Agriculture and Forestry Brno.
