The mechanisms of protective immunity of hosts against the microsporidian, Encephalitozoon Cuniculi.have been studied. Adoptive transfers of immunity from immunocompetent mice to mice with severe combined immunodeficiency, and phenotypic analysis of splenocytes from reconstituted, E. cuniculi infected or uninfected SCID mice, were used to study immune responses to microsporidial infection. Depletion of CD4+ or CD8+ T lymphocyte subpopulations were used to examine the role of these lymphocytes in the protection of infected hosts.Available from STL, Prague, CZ / NTK - National Technical LibrarySIGLECZCzech Republi
