The thesis deals with improving of behaviour diagnostics of a milling machine that is used for high speed cutting (HSC). This method uses the working activity of the machine and it makes possible to use this method at the time of cutting operation. The method can be used to control of the machine activity, or it can be used in the control system as an adaptive element. There is described a diagnostic process and modification of signals used in the diagnostics by the Fourier transformation for signals frequencies analyse. The milling machine is described and modelled as a linear system and it makes possible a simple analysis. There is described a brief overview of diagnostic methods with their principles and instruments used in operations. Special attention is paid to the last step of instrument development - a virtual instrument. Functions and activities of a virtual instrument are described on the LabVIEW development system. There are described two programs of a virtual instrument that were programmed for the next measuring.
