5 different methods of pea transformation were tested in experiments and new binary vectors were constructed. These vectors will be used also in subsequent experiments. In the 1st transformation method (TM) the stem segments were transformed and callus formation was induced. Due to long-term callus cultivation without successful shoot regeneration this method was abandoned. The 2nd TM, exploring the regeneration capacity of lateral cotyledonary meristems, was optimised for our cultivation conditions and selected cultivars.
