The aim of the study was to classify yeast and yeast-like microorganisms obtained from different human and veterinary sources, using a broad range of methods. The group used for the study included 690 isolates: 634 were of human and 56 of veterinary origin. The human strains were obtained from different clinical materials, veterinary samples were withdrawn by wiping the udders of cows, from the nostrils of pigs and from the muzzle and jaws of dogs. Species of animal origin were identified on the basis of the appearance of the colonies, micromorphology and the biochemical activity of the isolates.
