The goal of our work was to verify the possible ways of cross infection in dental practice and find out solution for its prevention. In the first step we made up the Questionaire and sent it to a sample of practicing dentists to establish possible risks of infection in a dental surgery. Then followed examination of dental unit water supply which in our condition excluded the cooling water as a source of infections even through our units were not equipped with anti-retraction valves. Concerning quality of the surface disinfection of reusable dental instrument i. e. high speed handpieces we proved that under common conditions this treatment of instruments is not sufficient.
