Psychologicke faktory pri lecbe sterility pomoci in vitro fertilizace.

The aim of the first and second parts of the thesis was to study the gender specific emotional impact of in-vitro fertilisation (IVF) and any possible influence due to the type of diagnosis, duration of infertility and number of cycles. In the third part we studied the influence of psychological stress on the outcome of IVF treatment. The prospective clinical study was curried out on 66 couples before the start of controlled ovarian hyperstimulation in the IVF program. Successful couples (25) were examined again after the ultrasound diagnosis of viable pregnancy in the uterus. We used following psychometric tests: State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI), Beck's Depression Inventory (BDI), Interpersonal Checklist (ICL) and Dusin Frustration Test. We obtained following resuslts: Statistically significantly highest scores of depression and trait anxiety were in the group of women before the second IVF cycle and with the duration of infertility 4 - 6 years (compared with groups before the first cycle and third and more cycle, resp. with the duration of infertility 1 - 3 years and more than 7 years). We didn't find any differences in scores of state anxiety and degree of frustration between these groups.
