O espaco do conto no texto medieval

The goal of this contribution to Narratology is to determine the moment where writing confirms the literary of the medieval text. The study opens with the distinction between orality and writing in the Middle Ages, linked with the origins of fiction. This distinction has its canonical model inscribed in the theory of literary genders and allows the verification of a progressive conscience of literary specificity after the initial relationship with reality of texts that are studied: chronicles, hagiographies, narratives of miracles. This study approaches an autonomous space, called the space of the tale, considered as the genetic structure of fiction, whose roots are situated in the imaginary. The study relies then on the boundaries of literarily and the attraction of the literary model over the writing forms whose aim is the representation of reality. To achieve this contribution to literary theory, is treated the social articulation of the text as a form of enunciation. This makes possible a parallel between medieval text and the folk tale, based on the oral situation of both production and transmission of an important part of those literary forms.
