This work concerns kinetic studies of radical homo polymerization and copolymerization of pinenes. Four copolymerization systems were studied: #alpha# - pinene/methyl methacrylate B -pinene/methyl methacrylate #alpha#-pinene/styrene #beta#-pinene/styrene The reactions were carried out in bulk, in a batch stirred reactor, in the presence of oxygen. The conversion was determined by sequential sampling analysis of unreacted monomers by gas liquid chromatography. For the homo and copolymerization reactions an apparent first order kinetic model for the monomer consumption reaction was established; apparent propagation rate constants were determined.
