Among irrigation systems, the center-pivot has had and continues to have an important role on irrigation in Portugal as well as in all the World, due to its automatization possibilities. The purpose of this work is to analyse some of the most important subjects concerning center-pivot systems design on a different way from other studies on center-pivot irrigation systems. The hydraulics of lateral is studied and friction losses on lateral having one pipe size and also on tapered laterals (Multiple-pipe-size). Several factors are analyzed and the conclusions are somewhat different from those of specialized authors.
