The work presented in this thesis focus on the development of scalable parallel radiative heat transfer (RHT) algorithms that may be employed in large scale simulations. In the present work parallel computing techniques are applied to two widely used RHT methods: the Discrete Transfer Method (DTM) and the Discrete Ordinates Method (DOM). Two parallelization strategies were employed for the DTM: Ray Decomposition Parallelization (RDP) and the Domain Decomposition Parallelization (DDP). The parallelized DTM was applied to 2 D and 3 D enclosures containing a gray emitting absorbing and isotropically scattering method.
