Skink lizards of the transcaucasia (systematic and ecology)

The purpose of the work: revision to the systematic position of the skink lizards of the Caucasis and contiguous to it countries; studying their geographycal variation and the ecological features of species. For the first time, the revision to the skink lizards of the Transcaucasia has been performed. The new diagnostic characters and their complexes have been found. For the first time, the geographycal variation of the golden mabuia and the longlegged skink has been studied. The taxonomic status of the populations and the intraspecies forms has been established, the map of the species and subspecies areals has been drawn up. The results of the investigation can be used when writing down the report on the herpetologic fauna of the Caucasus, when publishing the Red Books of the Azerbaijan, Armenia, as well as by the nature-protective organisations of the Republic when compiling the cadastre of the animals.
