DETERMINATION OF CONDITIONS FOR RATIONAL APPLICATION OF HARD-ALLOY GEAR MILLING CUTTERS, FOR OPPORTUNITY TO RISE OUTPUT OF GEAR-TOOTH MILLING PROCESS

There the cutting process of steel gear-wheels with the high-procudction of hard-alloy hob gear cutters has been considered. The purpose is to increase the effectiveness of gear-tooth milling process at the expense of application of hard-alloy gear milling cutters on the basis of comprehensive theoretical and experimental study of chip-formation mechanism, of process and of its variables. The general mechanisms of chip-formation in the freeless cutting with several adjacent lips of tooth of hob gear cutters at gamma = 0 and lambda = 0 have been ascertained; ity creates the foundation to develop the scientifically-substantiated process of high-speed gear-tooth milling and the constructions of hard-alloy gear milling cutters. The increase ways for effectiveness of gear cutting operations of medium-sized gear-wheels in structural steels, which provide for increase of output 3 - 4 times, have been recommended by execution of set of analytical and experimental study of hard-alloy gear-tooth milling process. The progressive hard-alloy gear-tooth milling process has been taken part in the industrial tests at Volgograd and Cheboxary Tractor Works.
