The wearing mechanism of tool in the high-speed steel has been determined on the basis of analysis of changes in the dislocation structure of its layers on and under surface. The connection between the energy state of contact surfaces of tool and the rate of its wearing during the period of stability has been ascertained. The methods of preliminary hardening of effective areas of tool have been offered. The recommendations to choose the rational cutting conditions for the particular machinable materials have been presented. The results have been used during the operations of drilling and boring of openings as well as during the working of shaping parts...
