The investigation is concerned with power cable lines. The purpose of the work is to develop a mathematical model and algorithms for infra-red control of cable lines. The author has developed an analytical method of solution of the inhomogeneous equation of heat transfer with zero boundary and initial conditions. The author has developed a new method of infra-red control of power cable lines which allows to determine the point of possible thermal break-down of the cable without disconnecting the cable.
