Thin gently sloping spherical shells are investigated in the paper aiming at the mathematical model development for the motion of a thin orthotropic spherical shell under deflections, excessing essentially its thickness. As a result the equation of the spherical shell motion under big deflections has been obtained. The simple asymptotical formula for the calculation of the maximum bending stresses in a shell while its moving has been suggested. The mathematical model of the motion of a thin orthotropic spherical shell with big deflections has been developed. Calculations of real constructions have been held. The methodology suggested has been introduced into the practice of the calculation of aviation construction elementsAvailable from VNT...
