Subject of investigation: atmospheric electricity. Purpose of the work: investigation of the electrical state of the bottom layer as applicable to the high-mountain conditions. Numerical models are developed for the electrical conditions of the bottom layer. The investigation concerns the variations in the electrical characteristics under the action of various factors. A possibility is investigated for setting up a mountainous background atmosphere-electric station in the Elbrus area. The results of the numerical modelling and the experimental data were used in some scientific and research work. The methods of carrying out the atmosphere-electrical observations are improved.
