A possibility to apply the resonance-ionization spectroscopy for quantitative detection of the content of the platinum group elements in the geological samples both theoretically and experimentally has been substantiated. The procedure of increasing accuracy of the measurements by means of realizing the two-beam measurement circuit has been proposed. The methods for detection of the rhodium, ruthenium and iridium in the rocks of ultra-basic composition on the percent abundance level (1 mg/t) have been developed. The procedure evaluating the mass of the representative sample on base of the consecutive analysis of the content of the detected element in the samples of small mass has been proposed.
