There the purposes are to study the non-electrical phenomena in the electrolyzer (the structure and the dynamics of gas-fluid layer, the recycling of electrolyte, the electric field in the electrolyte, the contact surface of electrolyte - anode gas phases); to develop the methods and the devices, which allow to decrease the metal losses. The dynamics of gas-fluid layer and electrolyte has been learned by two-phase physical model. The quantitative quasistatic recycling fields of electrolyte for all main types of aluminium electrolyzers have been obtained. The conversion of electric field at the anode effect has been studied.
