DYNAMICS OF PHASES AND RAISING OF RATE OF ALUMINIUM ELECTROLYZERS

There the study objects the electrolyzer to produce the aluminium. The purpose is to develop the number of engineering measures for the improvement of aluminium production on the basis of evolution of scientific knowledges about the macrokinetics of metal losses. The gasohydrodynamics of electrolyte has been studied by three-phase (the number of moving phases) physical simulator with the construction of vectorial quasistatic fields of electrolyte circulation for the first time. The study procedures of wave characteristics and of mass transfer in the metal - electrolyte interface with the use of offered three-phase physical simulator have been developed. The macrokinetics of metal losses has been developed. The number of engineering approaches, which allowed to rise the metal yield according to the current by 6% roughly for the Soderberg's electrolyzers by the side current feed, to automate the removal operation by the pneumopulsation method, to protect the lateral sides of self-burning anode against the flaking-off, to optimize the thermal insulation of cathode, to decrease the consumption of fluoric aluminium by 30% roughly, has been offered. The industrial introduction, the experimental industrial tests have been executed at the Nadvoitsy Aluminium Works, Karelia and others.
