STRUCTURE OF GRAIN BOUNDARIES AND THE DESTRUCTION IN SYSTEMS OF BOUNDARIES

The expression for the energy of arbitrary non-comparable grain boundaries with any disorientation has been obtained in the paper. Two regimes of the crack propagation - "frontal" and "percolation" - have been detected. Complete maps of energy and free volume of boundaries for aluminium and some kinds of iron have been calculated. The three-dimensional computer model of the grain-boundary crack propagation has been constructed.
