The investigation of elastic and non-elastic properties in submicrocrystalline (SMC) copper and nickel, obtained after big plastic leformations, with the help of acoustic methods is the aim of the paper as well as the analysis of their behaviour on the base of data of the structural investigations. As a result the considerable (more 10%) decrease of elasticity moduluses in submicrocrystalline copper and nickel has been detected. It has been also detected, that SMC copper displays the considerable damping capacity at the high strength. The SMC structure with the 0,2 mu km grain size has been obtained by the method of the equal-channel angular pressing in copper and nickel.
