The object of investigation is development of new techniques of wasteless processing of discharge brines resulting from processes of softening and freshening of sea water to produce homogeneous chemical products. The researchers have derived equations for determining the degree of desulfatization, deduced the equation of regression for designing the process of sedimentation of gypsum suspension, magnesium hydroxide syspension and admixture thereof, disclosed the empirical formulae for calculating specific resistance offered by precipitates and developed new techniques for the utilization of brines from water-desalinating plants.
