Verbesserung des Arbeitsschutzes im Bereich Bautenschutz Schlussbericht

The formation of dangerous dusts blasting of steel constructions can be deminished by using the so called moist blasting technic as developed by Peiniger and Sika. Nevertheless the worker performing the blasting has to be protected by special clothing and by independent fresh-air supply all over his body. Additionally the workers for cleaning and disposal as well the supervisors are endangered by these dusts. Further improvement of the moist blasting technic should diminish the health risk of all these people. The dosage of additional chemicals (dispersion and tensides) was tested in laboratory experiment and at building sites. New measuring technics for the quantitative proof of very small fractures of dusts that may be resorbed by the skin or the lung (extreme small dust particles) were developed. The so called modified moist blasting can diminish the emission of extreme small dust particles after blasting. The addition of an optimized dispersion improves the temporary corrosion protection and removes an important disadvantage of moist blasting.
