This thesis investigates methods in the field of aeroelasticity for efficiently computing inviscid flows and their influence on the dynamical behaviour of structures in the transonic flow regime. The lack of simple models for describing the aerodynamic loads precisely by exactly localizing and quantifying occurring shocks is typical for transonic aeroelasticity. Numerical methods bridge this gap, but only with higher computational costs. This work contains modelling and discretization of the aeroelastic multilevel problem consisting of unsteady aerodynamics and dynamics of geometrically nonlinear structures, and involves efficient solution strategies for reducing the calculation time.
