The purpose of the subproject was the further development of the parallel aerodynamic simulation program FLOWer (DLR) for cooperative, distributed heterogeneous use under the multimedia software environment COVISE (RUS). The parallelisation of FLOWer is based on the GMD communications library CLIC. The message passing model PARMACS used in the library was converted to the current message passing standard MPI. The library uses its own buffering of the data to be communicated. Therefore for communication within the heterogeneous computer cluster the whole buffering and communication had to be replaced for the MPI environment.
