USEKON - Umfassendes Softwareengineering Konzept fuer verteilte reaktive Systeme Schlussbericht

Within the project USEKON new object-oriented methods and tools were developed, which represent a reference model for a software engineering process used in different exemplary prototypes. The aim of the project was a significant improvement of the effectiveness, efficiency and quality of today's software development processes for control software. For this methods and technologies for analysis and design, test and quality insurance within complex application systems were conceived and implemented. The integration of the new developed methods into the development process took place with the help of developer guidelines for the specification of software models. They also contain suitable features for reusing already developed software components as well as aids for an early error recognition by means of simulation during the development process. Prototypes have been developed for distributed manufacturing systems. Thus the development method is useable for a wide range of applications in the field of production engineering (e.g. traffic-, buildings-, logistics systems).
