Synthesis, Optimization and Analysis. Hauptphase II, 1995-1996 Abschlussbericht

1. To date there is no full-covering design methodology for safety-critical systems. 2. The project phase aimed at the development of a complete and automatic synthesis system for digital integrated circuits comprising user interfaces at several design phases. Bosch was working within the user's group of subproject 8 'Evaluation and Synthesis Application'. 3. Adjacent to the application of design tools, a Top Down design path was developed, a library generator was constructed, a multi-level verification path was implemented and design for testability measures were introduced in cooperation with tool developers as follows: AC8-synthesis system CALLAS (Siemens), TOS (TU Muenchen) for rapid prototyping, ECTP (FhG-IIS/EAS Dresden) for datapath optimization and VFORMAL (Bull) for formal verification. 4. The validation of design tools reflecting commercial requirements incorporated the definition of specifications, design methods and application fields as well as the elaboration of issues on the development and improvement of the tools which were focused on. 5. Cooperation and application in the cluster project AE11: implementation of a design flow as used for the AE11-Fail-Stop-Controller design.
