The concept of virtual shared memory (VSM) was developed in order to simplify the programming of modern parallel computers with physically distributed memory. The memory activities occurring in such an architecture are so complex that we require tools to visualize and understand the dynamic processes to provide a basis for an effective debugging and optimization. In this thesis, a tool is introduced which visualizes the virtual shared memory references in different ways. Graphical representations for specified points in time, which clearly show the communication of memory pages, are implemented as well as time line visualizations that allow the observation of the evolution of system behaviour.
