Within the framework of this joint project a simulator for strategical and permanent production management planning was developed by Flachglas AG in cooperation with Fraunhofer-Institut fuer Materialfluss und Logistik. The developed operational-control, controlling and management simulator enables the user to develop, maintain, service and apply factory models of a defined logistic system. Using the factory model various problems which cannot be fully assessed by classical analytical methods (operations research, factory organization etc.) can be treated empirically.
