The air flow in the textile dyeing process was substituted by pure water vapour. Requirements for this, as well as the consequences, were observed. The investigations focused on reductive cleaning of polyester dispersion dye baths, with particular regard to the differences between air and water vapour. The investigations showed that less reduction agent (hydrosulfite/lye) is required for fast colouring, i.e. only about 10-30 percent. Some dye baths can even do without reduction agents. This is a great ecological advantage and a contribution to environmental protection by environment-friendly wet processes.
