State-of-the-art microsystems for information processing are implemented by using both analog and digital components and subsystems. Therefore, macromodels have to be developed that can be included into mixed analog/digital (mixed-mode) simulations. The following aspects were investigated: evaluation of mixed-mode macromodels with the multi-level simulator KOSIM, methodology for describing large MOS circuits in analog environments resulting in mixed-modes macromodels, investigation of Analog VHDL under mixed-mode modeling aspects.
