With regard to the project target, two types of alloys, NiAl-Cr alloys on the one hand and NiAl-Ta-Cr alloys on the other hand were followed up in parallel. Two phase NiAl-X materials (where X=Cr, Mo, W, Re) with improved ductility at room temperature and higher creep strength were developed by alloying with the refractory metals Cr, Mo, W and Re. The property characteristics of the newly developed alloys determine the micro-structure as well as the physical and mechanical properties. Further, different alloys reinforced by Laves phases on an NiAl basis in the systems Ni-Al-Nb-Cr and Ni-Al-Ta-Cr were examined.
