Several kinds of morphology are produced with special mixing techniques. The coefficient of gas permeation of the produced elastomers is measured with an apparatus which has been deduced from DIN 53536. The types of morphology analysed are the effect of the average domainsize, the effect of matrix polymer, the effect of carbon black dispersion and the effect of the distribution of the carbon black particle on the different elastomer phases. The morphology of the rubber had been determined via transmission electron microscopy using the crosslinked compound.
