The main objective of the present paper is to compare numerical results for boundary conditions at artificial boundaries for singularly perturbed Cauchy problems. Our test problems include a linear advection- diffusion equation, the viscous Burgers' equation, and a linear parabolic-hyperbolic system. The artificial boundary conditions for the linear problems can be motivated and analyzed by asymptotic in Laplace space. The conditions for Burgers' equation are still of experimental nature.
