These lectures are intended to be an introduction to basic techniques for the study of the Jacobians and related topics. Some of the results are new. Every effort has been made to keep the notes as self-contained as possible, though the readers are expected to have some knowledge of multidimensional calculus, Sobolev spaces and functional analysis. The objective of the first half of the notes is to lay down the necessary preliminaries of exterior algebra. These preliminaries prove crucial when we come to estimate the integrals of the Jacobians by using differential forms.
