Evaluation of technologies for packaging and reusing software engineering experiences

In order to continuously improve quality and productivity of software projects, organization-specific software know-how has to be captured in experience bases and reused in future projects. Learning knowledge-based systems have to be operationalized in industrial environments for the systematic acquisition of relevant knowledge and its organization-wide communication. In this article, we demonstrate that Case-Based Reasoning is the optimal approach concerning important requirements to integrated support platforms. Furthermore, beneficial potentials through the integration of other approaches, such as Quality Patterns, Information Retrieval and Database Management Systems are substantiated.
