Verifikation von ATHLET mit Hilfe der Einzeleffekttests ECTHOR und PATRICIA-SG2 Abschlussbericht

Contributing to the verification activities of external users of the code ATHLET, the Department of Nuclear and New Energy Systems (NES) of the University of Bochum performs computations of the ECTHOR and PATRICIA-SG2 experiments. The activity is sponsored by the German Ministry of Research and Development and entitled 'Contribution to ATHLET-Code Validation by Comparison and Assessment of Single Effect Post Test Calculations' (BMFT 150 0882). The recent ATHLET-Version (MOD 1.0 Cycle E) is based on a five equation two phase flow model, based on the conservation of liquid mass, vapour mass, liquid energy, vapour energy and overall momentum. The relative velocity between liquid and vapour is determined by means of a full-range drift-flux model for two-phase flow in horizontal and vertical pipes. The verification of this drift-flux model is carried out by a post test calculation of the single effect test ECTHOR, which investigates the clearance of a water filled loop seal by a forced air flow through the loop. As a measure, the remaining water level in the loop is determined as a function of the air flow rate. The comparison of experimental and computational data shows very good agreement. A nodalisation study of the test section shows a so called 'technical convergence' with increasing number of control volumes. As a result, the nodalisation recommendations of the code developer could be confirmed. (orig./GL)Als Beitrag zur externen Verifikation des Programmsystems ATHLET rechnet der Lehrstuhl fuer Nukleare und Neue Energiesysteme (NES) der Ruhr-Universitaet Bochum gefoerdert im Rahmen des BMFT-Projektes 150 0882 'Beitrag zur Validierung des Programmsystems ATHLET durch Nachrechnung ausgewaehlter Einzeleffektexperimente' die ECTHOR- und die PATRICIA-SG2-Testserien nach. Die aktuelle ATHLET Version (MOD 1.0 Cycle E) basiert auf einem 5-Gleichungs-Thermofluiddynamikmodell (separierte Massen- und Energiebilanzen, homogene Impulsbilanz). Die Relativgeschwindigkeit zwischen der Fluessigkeits-und Dampfphase wird mit einem Drift-Flux-Modell fuer Zweiphasenstroemungen in horizontalen und vertikalen Stroemungskanaelen bestimmt. Zur Verifikation dieses Drift-Flux-Modells wird das Einzeleffekttestexperiment ECTHOR nachgerechnet, welches das Freiblasen eines mit Wasser gefuellten Pumpenbogens durch einen Luftmassenstrom untersucht. Als charakteristische Groesse des Experimentes wird der Fluessigkeitsstand des im Pumpenbogen verbleibenden Restwassers in Abhaengigkeit vom Luftmassenstrom bestimmt. Ein Vergleich der experimentellen Ergebnisse mit den Rechenergebnissen zeigt eine sehr gute Uebereinstimmung. Eine Nodalisierungsstudie zeigt bei Erhoehung der Kontrollvolumenzahl eine technische Konvergenz der Rechenergebnisse und bestaetigt die Nodalisierungsempfehlungen des ATHLET-Drift-Flux-Modells.
