Concerning the subject complex ''biological hydrogen generation'', an on-line literature research was carried out in order to document the state of the art and research in the fields of biophotolytic hydrogen generation, photoproduction of hydrogen from biomass, and hydrogen generation from biomass by means of fermentation processes.
