A program for computer-assisted simulation of the structural dynamic and elastohydrodynamic piston-cylinder-bolt system was developed which provides information on the hydrodynamic bearing and friction forces, on the solid surface contact during oil bleeding, and the impact momentum of the piston on the cylinder wall caused by the secondary movement. Model parameters like design, fabrication contours and hot contours, variable oil levels at the piston shaft are considered as well as structural elasticities of the piston, bolt and cylinder. The local structural dynamics (vibrations) of the elastic components, which proides a basis for investigations of engine acoustics, is simulated as well.
