In order to improve the thermodynamic efficiency of combined cycle processes with pressure-charged coal dust furnaces, a gas purification process was developed in which the combustion gases are separated from gaseous alkali metals at high temperatures (T#>=#1000 C). Refractory ceramics were used for the process. The investigations show that efficient gas cleaning is possible in this temperature range.
