The present project aimed at the characterization of the cooperation of neural and knowledge based process structures and computer architectures for the solution of distinct visual test problems in industrial spheres. Investigations have been conducted on the extraction of characteristic features, position determination, lighting optimization and classification. The presented report described the construction of two demonstrators comprising hardware for lighting and image recording, visualization of the feature room and classification by neural nets, user surface, knowledge base and operation control.
